K+12 System To Be Implemented In June?
The Department of Labor and Employment (DoLE), together with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Education (DepEd) and the latter's attached agency the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), issued a program to address the prevailing job mismatch in the ten priority labor sectors of the country.
According to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), adding two more years to the elementary and high school education would help reduce the country's unemployment rate.
They said the K+12 system will be the answer to suit the industry needs.
Is it really the solution to the education and unemployment problem in the country?
Yes, adding two more years to the curriculum may help the students to be trained more and become professionals on their expertise. However, maybe it is not the right time to implement K-12.
The govermnent must focus first on the true problem of the country. What if they do K-12 but still there's still no room for students, if there's a room it is occupied by 70-80 students, other than that some of them are using their gymnasium and / or they stay under the trees to do their classes, sometimes tragedy happens and their schools were made to be an evacuation center, nevertheless, they also lack resources like books and they also lack teachers.
These are only some of the problems concerning the erudition of the Filipino children.
Why not add more buildings and rooms for student, make their time in school more productive by giving them enough resources like books, laboratories, libraries, etc. so they can learn more. Try to hire more teachers to be able to handle numerous number of children. Try to give quality education even if mostly unfortunate children were studying in public schools (they are the ones who likes to learn more to improve their lives unlike those kids who are wealthy while some are just wasting their money for computer games, etc. ).
Provide a solution on the TRUE problem.
The objective of K-12 is good. It aims of improving the skills of the students but those skills can be developed also if they are receiving the right treatment on their field. Students can learn more if they are comfortable with their work place and if they can understand properly what their educators are teaching them.
K-12 is approbative but is not the solution to the problem.
